Amazon Black Friday Checklist: 32 Last-Minute Fixes for BFCM

Black Friday is November 27. Cyber Monday is November 30. Adobe’s 2026 holiday forecast puts U.S. online spending at $12.9 billion on Black Friday and $15.1 billion on Cyber Monday, the first single day ever expected to clear $15 billion.

Here’s the catch: by the time most brands pull out their Amazon black friday checklist, half of it is already locked. The FBA inbound cutoffs passed in October. The original deal deadline passed October 20. What’s left is the work that decides whether the inventory you have converts at a profit, or sells through at a discount on Wednesday and sits out of stock on Black Friday.

This is the last-minute Amazon black friday checklist for brands: what to confirm, what to fix, and what to launch in the final weeks before BFCM, in the order it needs to happen. If you’re still mapping the full quarter, start with our Amazon Q4 2026 playbook and come back here.

Your Amazon Black Friday Checklist Starts With the Calendar

Work backward from the dates Amazon has set. Three have already passed, and they shape every decision below.

The inbound cutoffs are arrival dates, not ship dates. Anything still in transit today isn’t guaranteed to be checked in before Black Friday Week traffic peaks. Build your event around inventory that’s already received, and treat anything else as upside.

BFCM Inventory: Plan Around What’s Already Checked In

Inventory is the one line on an Amazon black friday checklist you can’t fix after the fact. Most brands overlook this step because they assume the October shipments landed. Check before you commit a single unit to a deal.

  • Pull available vs. inbound by ASIN. Only units marked available count toward your Cyber Week forecast. Inbound units are a bonus, not a plan.
  • Hold 28 days of cover on hero ASINs. Amazon recommends at least 28 days of inventory per ASIN through peak. If a hero ASIN sits below that, keep it out of your deepest discount. A 25%-off deal on thin stock sells through before Black Friday and leaves the listing dark for the biggest days of the year.
  • Cap deal quantities. Set Lightning Deal and Best Deal quantities from available units minus a buffer for full-price sales through December.
  • Set up a backup fulfillment path. If you hold stock at a 3PL or your own warehouse, create a merchant-fulfilled offer on your top ASINs now. An FBA stockout then drops you to the backup offer instead of off the page.
  • Turn on AWD auto-replenishment. If you have units in AWD, confirm replenishment to FBA is active so stock flows during the event without a manual shipment.
  • Build peak fees into your margin. Peak fulfillment fees average about $0.32 more per unit from October 15 to January 14. On a $20 item, that’s 1.6 points of margin gone before you discount anything.

Deals and Pricing: The Last Open Item on Your Amazon Black Friday Checklist

Amazon originally closed Black Friday and Cyber Monday deal submissions on October 20, then extended the window to November 13 in an October 23 Seller Central update. The update spells out the path for Prime Exclusive Discounts: Advertising, then Price Discounts, then Events in the drop-down. It doesn’t confirm that Lightning Deals and Best Deals share the new date, so check the Deals dashboard before you plan around them.

  • Run the margin math before you submit. Event deals carry a $100 upfront fee per promotion plus 1.5% of promotional sales, with the variable portion capped at $5,000. A $40 product at 20% off sells for $32, and that $32 still has to cover referral fees, fulfillment, peak fees, ad spend, and returns.
  • Match the promotion to the price point. Products under about $24 often do better with a coupon, which shows a savings badge in regular search results. Higher-priced flagship ASINs have more room to absorb event deal fees.
  • Validate your List Price. Since April 23, 2026, a seller-submitted List Price needs outside evidence: recent sales at another retailer, or sales as the Featured Offer at that price. Fail validation and you lose the strike-through. For Prime Exclusive Discounts, a missing reference price hides the deal entirely, and Amazon re-checks every 24 hours.
  • Know your October price doesn’t cap November. Prime Big Deal Days prices are excluded from the lookback Amazon uses to set Black Friday Week deal ceilings. If you ran a deep October discount, it doesn’t automatically drag down your November deal price. Our Prime Big Deal Days guide covers how the two events connect.
  • Clear the four health checks. Amazon lists Account Health Rating, deal health status, listing quality, and payment and tax settings as the conditions between a submitted deal and one that runs. A suppressed deal on an ASIN you’re paying to advertise is the most expensive mistake on this list.

Listings and A+ Content: Lock Them Before the BFCM Content Freeze

Listings are where small errors on an Amazon black friday checklist cost the most, because every ad dollar lands on them. Set a freeze on title and keyword edits around November 9. It isn’t an Amazon rule. It’s insurance: a title change in the final two weeks can trigger catalog review or shift indexing at the exact moment you need the listing stable. Submitting a Prime Exclusive Discount after the freeze doesn’t touch listing copy, so the two don’t conflict.

  • Audit every deal-linked listing. Look for suppression alerts, missing attributes, and incomplete image stacks. Amazon requires deal ASINs to be active and meet its quality requirements.
  • Review the mobile view first. Adobe expects a record 63% of Thanksgiving online spend to come through mobile devices. On a phone, the main image, the start of the title, and the first bullet do most of the selling.
  • Write for AI shopping assistants. Adobe expects AI-referred traffic to U.S. retail sites to rise 130% this season. Amazon’s own shopping assistant reads your bullets, A+ Content, and Q&A to answer shopper questions. Specific answers on size, compatibility, and what’s in the box beat adjectives.
  • Confirm A+ Content is live, not pending. Anything still in review on November 20 is a risk. Our A+ Content guide covers the modules that carry the most weight.
  • Add gift intent where it’s true. If the product ships gift-ready or suits a specific recipient, say so in a bullet or A+ module. Holiday shoppers search for who they’re buying for, not just what.

Point Your BFCM Traffic at a Brand Store That Converts

A beautiful Brand Store nobody visits is a billboard in a cornfield. During Cyber Week the problem flips: plenty of ad traffic, landing on a Store that still looks like September.

  • Swap the homepage hero to your BFCM offer before Black Friday Week starts, and schedule the switch back for the day after Cyber Monday.
  • Build a dedicated deals page with every discounted ASIN, so Sponsored Brands campaigns have a specific place to land.
  • Lead with bestsellers and bundles. Shoppers at peak scan the first screen and decide. Put the products most likely to convert there.
  • Check every tile the morning of Black Friday. An out-of-stock product in a Store tile is a dead end you’re paying to send people to.

Amazon Ads: The BFCM Budget Plan for the Final Stretch

Ad spend is where the final weeks of an Amazon black friday checklist get won or lost. Here’s the budget structure from our Amazon advertising strategy guide, shown as an increase over your normal daily budget:

PhaseTimingBudget vs. baseline
Pre-BFCM rampNow through the start of Black Friday Week+30–50%
BFCM weekBlack Friday Week through Cyber Monday+100–150%
DecemberDecember 1 through holiday shipping cutoffs+40–60%
  • Ramp now, not on Black Friday. Campaigns need click and conversion data before peak traffic arrives. Amazon recommends starting full-funnel advertising early so deal ASINs are indexed and gaining traction before the event.
  • Raise budgets before you raise bids. The costliest Cyber Monday mistake is a top campaign that runs out of budget by early afternoon. Use schedule-based budget rules to lift caps automatically on Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday.
  • Protect your branded search. Competitors bid on your brand terms all week. A Sponsored Brands campaign on your own name costs little and keeps them off the top of the page.
  • Retarget the early browsers. Adobe expects discounts to build from up to 14% off in early November to up to 21% before Thanksgiving and up to 30% during Cyber Week. Shoppers who browsed in October come back when the price drops. Sponsored Display and DSP audiences catch them.
  • Tie ads to deal health. If a deal gets suppressed or an ASIN runs low, pull its ad spend the same day.

The Amazon Black Friday Checklist for Cyber Week Itself

Once the event starts, the job shifts from building to watching. Run these checks every morning from the start of Black Friday Week through Cyber Monday:

  1. Deals dashboard: every deal live, none suppressed or flagged at risk.
  2. Inventory: if any ASIN is selling faster than forecast, slow its ads before it stocks out.
  3. Buy Box: confirm you own it on every hero ASIN. A hijacker on a deal ASIN collects the sales your ads paid for.
  4. Budget pacing: no top campaign capped out before evening.
  5. Search terms: move converting terms into exact match while traffic is high.
  6. Reviews and Q&A: answer new questions daily; peak shoppers read them.
  7. Brand Store: no out-of-stock tiles on the homepage or deals page.

Common Questions About the Amazon Black Friday Checklist

What’s the most important item on an Amazon black friday checklist this late?

Deal health on ASINs with real stock behind them. A live deal on an in-stock ASIN, backed by ads, outperforms every other fix on this list. Confirm that first, then work down.

Is it too late to submit Amazon Black Friday deals?

Not for every deal type. Amazon extended the BFCM submission deadline to November 13, and the update confirms Prime Exclusive Discounts are open. Check the Deals dashboard for Lightning Deals and Best Deals. Coupons remain an option either way.

When does Amazon Black Friday Week 2026 start?

Amazon hadn’t announced the 2026 start date at the time of writing. In 2024 the event ran November 21 to December 2. Plan your ad ramp for around November 20 and adjust when Amazon confirms.

What if I missed the FBA inventory deadlines?

Plan the event around units already available, ship remaining stock anyway, and set up a merchant-fulfilled backup offer on hero ASINs. Don’t build a deep discount around inventory that’s still in transit.

How much should I increase Amazon ad budgets for BFCM?

Ramp 30–50% above baseline now, then 100–150% above baseline from Black Friday Week through Cyber Monday. Set budget rules so caps lift automatically on the peak days.
